Hello, and a warm welcome to all who share my interests in medicine, music and young philanthropy, or love of my beautiful native county of Suffolk.
Currently I am studying medicine at Bristol University, having been a keen musician throughout my school career.
Music led me to medicine when voluntary work gave it a new dimension. Through charities supporting young people with disability I became interested in ‘music and the deaf ’. That was an introduction to neurological phenomena which led me in turn to music therapy, bringing me into contact with people of all ages with various conditions and infirmities. Along the way a calling grew to become a doctor.
Access is available on this site to recordings of music I’ve composed or been involved in performing. These include audio and film recordings of the première performance of the Requiem I composed for performance on Remembrance Sunday 2016 by the Rugby School Choral Society and Bliss Sinfonia.
Details can also be seen of Fifty Miles with my Dad, a book in which I tell the story of the fundraising trek on which I took my first steps on the path I’ve described. Looking back on how much I have gained, I hope others may be stirred to try something similar, or will at least enjoy the read!
